Through photosynthesis, Trefadder's climate forests capture large amounts of CO2, which is converted into carbon that is locked into the trees' biomass, hence the term carbon capture and storage.
This carbon capture is transformed into so-called carbon credits that businesses use to compensate for their residual emissions in their climate accounts.
Buy nature and environmental measures
Trefadder also offers several nature and environmental projects such as the protection of old-growth forests, planting of deciduous forests, coniferous forests and the restoration of kelp forests. These projects have a particular focus on biodiversity.
Trefadder is working to have these projects verified as climate and nature credits.
