5. Carbon Removal Process

Trefadder delivers high-quality climate credits based on precise and verifiable carbon removal.
Here is how we produce real, lasting impact:

  1. Scientific Mapping and Analysis Each site is assessed using advanced data and ecological modelling to evaluate existing vegetation and estimate future carbon removal potential.
  2. Field Measurement and Risk Assessment All planting sites are surveyed, and a comprehensive risk analysis is performed to ensure long-term reliability and project resilience.
  3. Drone-Based Monitoring Drones are deployed to track forest development by counting trees and calculating biomass growth over time.
  4. Built-In Safeguards We apply a robust safety margin to account for unforeseen events and secure the environmental value of each credit issued.

Photosynthesis in Action
Through photosynthesis, trees absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere and store it in trunks, roots, and surrounding soil, while releasing oxygen. Trefadder's specialised platform ensures maximum CO₂ removal in climate forests located in secure, high-potential areas.

How We Deliver Long-Term Carbon Removal

  • Pre-Production Phase
  • Technical site analysis
  • On-site CO₂ estimation
  • Landowner agreement

Using a custom-built solution developed with Microsoft, we identify optimal forest locations. Local landowners are responsible for planting, maintenance, and eventual harvesting.

  • Production Phase (Years 1 to 100):
  • Active reforestation and forest management
  • Continuous monitoring and care

Each forest is managed for up to 100 years, with the first 30 years being particularly critical to securing strong, healthy growth. Once mature, the trees are harvested to use the timber in durable construction, effectively locking in the carbon for generations.
