What we do

What we do

Verified carbon credits

Trevadder produces biological carbon capture by building Norwegian climate forests in collaboration with local farms.

Trefadder's carbon capture becomes carbon credits for businesses that will offset emissions that cannot currently be reduced.

Nature and environmental measures

Trevadder also has several forest-related activities, such as restoration of kelp forests, protection of old-growth forests, planting oak forests and other habitat measures in the forest.

Our environmental projects are available to businesses that want to contribute to increased biodiversity in the forest.

This is how it works

The CO2 capture is converted into carbon credits, where 1 ton of CO2 corresponds to 1 carbon credit. These are used by many businesses to compensate for residual emissions that cannot be reduced today for technological and economic reasons. The company can climate compensate all or part of its business.

Trefadder issues a climate certificate based on the company's compensated carbon capture. All our contributors (companies) receive a separate environmental page that contains a graphic representation of how your business has been climate compensated.

Trefadder also supplies QR codes that link to the climate certificate or environmental page, and which can be used in the company's marketing materials.

1. Climate accounting

Compensate your footprint.

Your needs and wishes form the basis for our deliveries.

For example,

  • Compensate your carbon footprint
  • Plant a tree per unit of your choice.
  • Improve the environment with a nature initiative

2. Tree planting

Climate compensation
We plant and protect forests that correspond to your residual emissions in the climate account.

Nature measures/compensation
We protect old-growth forests, build deciduous forests and improve habitats in line with your order.

3. Traceability

Your climate forest/measure has full traceability at location, as well as documentation of effects and results.

4. Visit your forest

Each customer can visit their climate forest. Make it a pleasant and educational day with your employees where you can see the area, and also contribute to the planting if desired.

5. Documentation

All climate credits are registered and documented with an issued climate certificate with an overview of CO2 capture. All corporate customers can also get their own climate page that can be used in internal and external marketing.

Our documentation of carbon capture

Trust in climate action is a prerequisite for the Trefadder model. Therefore, Trefadder places considerable emphasis on verifiable documentation as a basis for climate certificates and the work with our climate forests.

Here are our forest projects

Trefadder enters into agreements with local landowners for planting and forest protection that create local jobs and local value creation.

Trevadder constantly has new forest projects underway,
and has ambitions to plant local forests all over Norway by 2030.

Hagalid farm

Sæther farm, Surnadalen

Trefadder and the Sæther family have had a successful partnership for several years, which has resulted in more than 300.000 trees planted. This will bind tens of thousands of tons of CO₂ and has also helped create many jobs along the way. Although the forest grows naturally, it requires regular supervision, measures and care to ensure that the values…

Omestad Farm, Lyngdal

Once upon a time, large parts of Norway were covered in lush deciduous forest, especially rich in beautiful oak trees that were preferred for shipbuilding. Today, much of this forest is gone, but Trefadder has a strong focus on restoring this lost oak forest.

OVF Nordmøre

This collaboration provides a significant increase in carbon sequestration through the new forest that grows, while creating value for both the environment and local communities. The Norwegian Public Information Fund (OVF) was established in 1821, and in September 2024, OVF and Clemens Eiendom changed their name to Allstad. The company manages property and assets that have historically been associated with…

Our products

Buy carbon credits

Trefadder offers carbon credits through carbon capture in Norwegian climate forests for companies that want to compensate for their emissions.

Our core product is the replanting of climate forests. Trefadder offers an effective way for companies to meet their climate goals and improves nature's ability to sequester carbon.

Trevadder is committed to maximizing carbon sequestration in existing forests. By postponing the harvesting of forests with good timber quality and still high carbon absorption capacity, we can both achieve increased climate benefit and contribute to bigger, stronger trees.

Buy nature and environmental measures

Nature is our important ally in the fight against climate change and the coming natural crisis. Trefadder has initiated a number of projects that strengthen nature's ability to combat the changes.

The "Plant a Tree" forests are divided into two: deciduous forests and coniferous forests, as well as a combination of these. The Tree Father concept facilitates the planting of trees for the sake of nature and biodiversity.

Support our nature and environmental projects

Trefadder, in collaboration with the law firm BAHR, has developed Norway's first commercial scheme for voluntary protection of old-growth forests. This provides the landowner with a financial benefit, while Trefadder ensures that old-growth forests that would otherwise have been cut down are preserved for the future.

Support our nature and environmental projects

There is a “housing crisis” in the forest! Trevadder wants to alleviate the crisis by setting up thousands of bird boxes along the most important migration routes. This way, we can give endangered bird species a chance to find safe places to nest and preserve their place in the Norwegian ecosystem.

Support our nature and environmental projects

Trevadder, together with our customers, has started Norway's largest kelp forest restoration project. Our goal is to restore these important underwater communities while contributing to significant CO₂ capture.

Support our nature and environmental projects

We plant climate forests on vacant land at selected farms.
