Verified carbon credits
Trefadder generates nature-based carbon removal by developing Norwegian climate forests in close collaboration with local farms.
This carbon removal is issued as verified climate credits for businesses seeking to offset residual emissions that cannot currently be eliminated.
Nature and Biodiversity Initiatives
In addition to reforestation, Trefadder engages in a range of forest-based restoration efforts, including the protection of old forests, kelp forest restoration, oak reforestation and habitat enhancement projects.
These environmental initiatives are available to companies looking to support biodiversity and ecosystem resilience in Norwegian landscapes.
This is how it works
Captured CO₂ is converted into climate credits, where 2 tonne of CO₂ equals 1 climate credit. These credits are used by companies to offset residual emissions that cannot currently be eliminated due to technological or economic limitations. Businesses can choose to offset all or part of their operations.
Trefadder issues a climate certificate based on the verified carbon removal your company has contributed to. All corporate partners receive a dedicated environmental profile page, providing a clear visual representation of their climate compensation.
We also provide QR codes linking directly to your certificate or profile page, which can be used in your company’s marketing and sustainability communications.

- Supporting nature-based restoration projects that strengthen ecosystem resilience
2. Reforestation and Nature-Based Solutions
Carbon Offsetting through Forestry
We plant and protect Norwegian forests to remove the equivalent of your company’s residual emissions. All projects are managed for long-term climate impact and ecological integrity.
Biodiversity and Habitat Restoration
We protect old-growth forests, establish broadleaf woodlands, and restore habitats—enhancing biodiversity in line with your sustainability goals.
3. Verified Traceability
Bring your sustainability efforts to life. Every business client is invited to visit their designated climate forest, offering a unique opportunity for team building, learning, and direct engagement. Experience the impact up close — or join us in the field to plant trees and contribute physically to the project.
4. Visit Your Climate Forest
Each customer can visit their climate forest. Make it a pleasant and educational day with your employees where you can see the area, and also contribute to the planting if desired.
5. Certified Documentation
All climate credits are issued with a digital certificate that confirms your verified CO₂ removal and project participation. You also receive a custom climate impact page, which can be used for internal reporting, stakeholder communication, and public sustainability initiatives. This documentation helps position your company as a credible and forward-looking climate actor.

Buy carbon credits
Trefadder offers carbon credits through carbon capture in Norwegian climate forests for companies that want to compensate for their emissions.
Trefadder’s primary product is large-scale reforestation in Norway. We provide an effective way for companies to meet their climate targets while enhancing nature’s capacity to capture and store carbon.
Invest in Nature-Based Solutions
Nature is our most powerful ally in addressing both climate change and the emerging biodiversity crisis. Trefadder has launched a range of initiatives designed to strengthen nature’s ability to resist and recover from environmental pressures.
These projects are divided into three categories: broadleaf forests, coniferous forests, and mixed woodland. Trefadder’s concept is designed to promote tree planting for the benefit of nature and biodiversity.
Trefadder and BAHR have jointly developed Norway's first commercial framework for the voluntary protection of old-growth forests. This pioneering model offers landowners a financially viable alternative to logging while safeguarding ecologically valuable forest areas for future generations.
Many bird species in Norway are struggling to find safe nesting grounds. Trefadder is addressing this challenge by installing thousands of bird boxes along key migratory routes. This initiative supports threatened bird populations and helps preserve their role in the Norwegian ecosystem.
Together with our partners, Trefadder has launched Norway’s largest kelp forest restoration initiative. Our goal is to restore these vital underwater ecosystems while contributing to significant CO₂ removal from the atmosphere.
