Which places in Norway are best suited for planting climate forests?

The western counties have the largest area that can provide high or very high quality after planting. In Nordland and Troms, the quality is often low, but there are still significant areas that can provide medium to high quality spruce after planting.

Forests in polar regions, with a lot of snow, may have a greater albedo effect than carbon uptake. It would therefore be inappropriate to plant climate forests in polar regions. In an area with a polar climate, it is likely that the albedo effect could, under certain conditions, be greater than carbon uptake. Areas along the coast, with a warm-temperate climate and little or no snow, will have low albedo. Coastal areas are thus better suited as climate forests, when taking albedo into account.
