The forest in Norway is important in the climate context in that it annually absorbs a CO2 amount that corresponds to over 60 percent of our total annual emissions of greenhouse gases in other sectors. In addition, sustainable use of forest resources is an important source of renewable energy and for the production of wood materials that can replace climate-damaging materials.
