Climate forests cannot be established just anywhere. All nature conservation areas are protected. At the same time, climate forests are not permitted in pine swamp forests in western Norway, swamp forests, broadleaf forests, open heathland, lime pine forests, lime birch forests and edge zones near watercourses. There are also restrictions on planting in areas with hayfields, hayfields, hayfield edges, hay meadows and areas with hollow oaks.
