The lifespan of the climate forest
Trees are known to have a long lifespan, but at some point the tree reaches maximum CO2 binding and growth. At this point the trees have become 30-50m tall and branches have begun to wither.
At this point, the forest must be cut down and then new trees planted, which will sequester even more CO2. Even though the trees are cut down, the CO2 remains stored in the wood when it is converted into timber or wood products.
