Norway is growing again
Many people claim that Norway is growing again. And in many ways they are right. Norway's cultural landscape has previously been characterized by human activity. Over generations, nature has been shaped by mowing or grazing for animals. This has changed. Over the past few generations, these traditions have more or less ceased. The areas are used for other things, such as building houses, or they remain unused and eventually grow again.
Unfortunately, overgrown cultural landscapes do not function as effective carbon stores. Overgrowth can also contribute to reduced biodiversity, both for plant species, animals and insects. In addition, plants in overgrown areas will not always be suitable for further processing.
