Trefadder AS is now ISO 14001 certified. The certification marks an important step in our work with the environment, nature and sustainability, and confirms that we have a structured and comprehensive environmental management system that meets international requirements.
The certification was carried out by Kiwa Norge. ISO 14001 is an international standard for certification of environmental management systems, and provides a clear framework for how businesses can work systematically to reduce environmental impact, strengthen environmental performance and integrate sustainability into both strategy and daily operations. The standard also involves independent third-party verification and systematic follow-up of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
I Trefadder We work with the establishment, management and documentation of climate forests, the protection of natural forests, the restoration of kelp forests and other nature measures. Our work takes place directly in nature and places high demands on accountability, quality and documentation, which places clear demands on how we plan, implement and follow up on our activities.
An important step
Managing Director of Trefadder AS, Anders Kristiansen, highlights the importance of the certification:
– The ISO 14001 certification is an important seal of quality for us in Trefadder. It confirms that we work systematically and structured with the environment and sustainability, and that this is well-rooted throughout the organization. The certification gives us a solid foundation for further development of our projects within climate forestry, nature restoration and biodiversity conservation.
Structure, systematics and anchoring
Good environmental management is particularly important in practical fieldwork, which constitutes a large part of our business. When we plant trees and carry out other measures in nature, strict requirements are placed on how the work is carried out. We have clear routines for handling deviations in the field, and a conscious attitude to how our presence affects the surroundings. A central principle in this work is what we call "Leave No Trace". This involves clear requirements for training field personnel, systematic control of planting sites and clear follow-up if deviations are discovered. The goal is that no waste or unnecessary traces of human activity should be left behind when the fieldwork is completed.
The work on ISO 14001 has involved the entire organization. It contributes to internal quality and compliance, while also providing customers and partners with security through documented quality, transparency and verifiability in Trefadders projects.
Magnus Farkvam has been project manager for the establishment and implementation of ISO 14001 certification in Trefadder, and points to the practical and organizational usefulness of the work:
– The certification work has largely confirmed that we have good internal routines and a structured way of working with environmental management. The process has made it easier to collect and clarify existing practices, and has contributed to a common understanding of how environmental work is actually carried out in everyday life.
Good support throughout the process
We would also like to thank Standard Online AS, and especially advisor Ingebjørg Sjåstad, who has guided us through the certification process.
– We have had very good support and guidance from Standard Online along the way. Ingebjørg has contributed with professional insight and practical advice that has been of great help in the work of establishing and documenting the environmental management system., says Farquam.
Commitment to responsible nature management
The ISO 14001 certification confirms that Trefadder has a solid and well-functioning framework for environmental work, with clear goals, clear responsibilities and systematic follow-up. For us, continuous improvement is about responsible management of natural assets, quality in our projects and long-term thinking in climate and nature measures.
– For us, it is important to take responsibility through structured and documented work on environmental impact, and to set clear requirements for our own practices. ISO 14001 gives us a framework that supports our purpose and the way we work., concludes Kristiansen.
With this certification we confirm that Trefadder has a solid and documented foundation for further development, for the benefit of nature, the climate and all our partners.
