In any forest, trees compete for nutrients. External factors such as wind and sun and genetic differences result in different growth rates. In order for the climate forest to grow as quickly as possible with maximum absorption of CO2, the forest must be regularly maintained.
At least 250 plants are usually planted per dekaer and there is about 2 meters between each plant. Over time, as the forest grows, about 20% will have to be cut down to make room for the trees that have the greatest chance of maximum growth. A successful climate forest therefore requires a lot of care and maintenance.
